KTBYTE's course offerings in Scratch, Minecraft, Roblox, and Game Making offer young programmers a way to try new skills in a fun, low-pressure environment!
Sign your student up for a package of 6-10 lessons. Classes run at least once per week at times accessible for students around the world. By the end of their course, students will have beginner-level mastery of the course material and will have started their own portfolio of projects to share with friends!
All classes include:✅ Six or ten 1-hour classes with a live instructor

✅ Instructional videos for if a student misses class or wants to review the material

Looking for a creative space for young learners to enjoy computer science? Look no further! This course uses block-based code to teach elementary-aged students the basics of computer science. Scratch is the world's most popular coding community for kids, created by the Lifelong Kindergarten group at MIT. After this class most students can move on to working with more advanced block-based languages like KTBlocks
- Ages 10 to 13
Does your child enjoy playing video games? It’s time for them to make their own games! In this course, the instructor will lead the students to use their creativity to develop unique games and learn coding essentials in a fun way. Students will build games in RobloxStudio, which they will set up for free before the first class. Towards the end of this course students will learn the basics of Lua, a popular scripting language for coding games.

Immerse yourself in the game design universe of Minecraft for this project-based learning adventure! We'll cover skills from coding agents to performing simple tasks, to generating entire maps with custom rules for gameplay. Join one of our experienced instructors for 10 weekly lessons on how to learn to code using your favorite games!
- Ages 10 to 12
In this 6-lesson course, students make a classic arcade racing game. We progress at a gentle pace and spend substantial time on the design, visuals, logic and testing of the game. This class is beginner-friendly and assumes no prior programming experience.
- Ages 11+
In this 6-lesson course, students make a classic Pacman-style arcade game. We spend substantial time on the design, visuals, logic and testing of the game. This class gives beginners the essentials of code concepts needed for the project and assumes no prior programming experience, but proceeds at a brisk pace also suitable for students with some prior experience. Code and design concepts covered include 2-dimensional arrays, timers, 2-dimensional graphics effects, and artificial intelligence in games.
- Ages 11+
In this 6-lesson course, students make a classic Tower Defense game. We'll spend time on the design, visuals, logic and testing of the game. This class gives beginners the skills needed for the project and assumes no prior programming experience, but students with some prior experience will have more opportunities for customizing their game. Code and design concepts covered include arrays, timers, 2-dimensional graphics effects, and artificial intelligence in games.
- Ages 13 to 16
Looking to learn how to use a versatile game engine? If so, then this is the course for you! Students will learn the basics of game development with Unity, covering everything from designing levels and painting terrain to programming movement and working with interactions between physics objects. While this course assumes no prior experience with Unity or programming for a game engine at all, we recommend that students have some experience working with code coming into the class.
